What will you do to gain your next job?
You may not have to wear a sandwich board to gain employment, as Davie Rowe of London did this week, yet what will you do to make yourself stand apart?
Do you have a desire to move your career to the next level, work for your dream company or gain employment due to a recent layoff? The key words here are desire, work and gain.
You most likely will not land a great job without pulling out all the stops. Think of anyone and everyone you can network with. Are you LinkedIn? Have you joined on line business organizations and local organizations in efforts to network? Have you called a reputable recruiter to work on your behalf? Do people, including friends, know you are looking? I can’t tell you how many jobs may have passed right under your nose because you were too shy, embarrassed or too reserved to ask for help or let it be known that you were looking.
It is OK. People want to help one another. So get out your pen or keyboard and jot down as many people you can think of to begin some solid networking. Then e-mail or call them and don’t hang up before you ask them for another referral. Before you know it, you will have a pool of potential contacts without walking the streets of London, England.
