What are your Strengths?
I speak to people every day who are incredibly sharp. You know who you are but are you doing what you can to enhance your personal talents?
If I asked you what your top strengths were you would probably answer in the following way: hard working, smart, communicative, a people person (please don't say that), self -driven, etc...
What if I told you that you could spend $15 or less to discover your top 5 strengths? I recommend this book to everyone I know. Whether you have years of experience or are just starting out, this may be helpful to you. Check out Strengthfinders 2.0 by Tom Rath. I love the book because it is brief, based on research and offers ideas for action. I didn't want to simply identify my strengths and sit on the information, I wanted to build on them! This book allowed me to do just that.
Doesn't it make sense to acknowledge our weaknesses (and let them go for now) and embrace and build our strengths?
Some candidates are beginning to put their 5 top strengths on their resumes, managers are buying the book for their teams and some couples are finding that it is not a bad idea to discover each others strengths for the long haul.
Focus on your strengths and I bet you will advance your life and career. Speaking of which, this Maximer has to go Woo some prospects with my best Communication to Activate the Strategic plans of my clients.
